Home Run Derby

The Home Run Derby will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 6 at Park 6

Rules:

Each school and alumni team can select one participant for the Home Run Derby. Even if a school has multiple teams, they may only have one home run derby participant.

  1. Each participant will get up to one minute to hit as many home runs as possible. There is no pitch limit - there is only a time limit.

    1. Each participant must provide their own pitcher

    2. Each participant must provide at least four fielders (though more are welcome!)

  2. Scoring:

    1. Each home run is worth one point

    2. Each participant will get one Moneyball to be used at their discretion

      1. The Moneyball is worth 3 points if it results in a home run

      2. It is the obligation of the pitcher to ensure that the scorer (who will be behind the plate) knows when they are using the Moneyball

  3. If, after all the participants have batted, there is a tie for the lead, each remaining participant will get ten pitches to hit as many home runs as possible.

    1. Any ties that still remain after this round will be resolved by sudden death: Each batter will get one pitch until there is only one batter remaining.

    2. Note that this limits a batter to pitches, not to swings

    3. There will be no Moneyball in overtime or sudden death
